Careful Hands
Careful Hands is my graduate collection made from second-hand materials featuring my original knitted garments. All garments are made from repurposed materials found in Wellington, inspired by my thesis, which focused on craftsmanship and well-being within clothing. Gaining a wider perspective from my research on what being a responsible maker means to me. Solidifying who I am making for and why.
Intentionally set in nature, these photos, taken by me of my good friend Charlie reflect the importance of texture in my collection. As-well-as emphasising that these garments are made in New Zealand.
The collection is comprised of two machine knitted tops with diamond detailing. A rib machine knitted skirt with tassel detail. A blazer with four vents and tie closures. Low-rise trousers with a tie fastening waistband. A sheer shirt and a wrap skirt with tassel detailing round out the collection.
